Surrounded by beautiful landscapes

Enjoy your holidays on the Baltic Sea

The hilly meadows and pastures of the federal state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania entice visitors to take a stroll. Take the path along the village pond and past the well-tended manors and gardens. It will take you to the cliffs and the beach washed by the waves of the Baltic Sea. There are plenty of contrasts in the region of Wiek, in the north-east of Germany. Come and experience it yourself: take a stroll along unspoiled beaches, go for a swim, a walk, or read a book while listening to the waves of the sea in the background. Or jump on a bike and cycle along the coast to enjoy the peace and quiet.

These are the main appeals of Beckerwitz Youth Hostel:

  • It is the perfect place for a quiet family holiday or for school trips to the Baltic Sea
  • It is surrounded by beautiful pristine landscapes and seascapes
  • It boasts an original design: our tree houses combine sustainability and childhood dreams

Absolutely idyllic: As you leave the cosy, half-timbered building in the morning, you are greeted by the first rays of sunlight as they make the dew on the trees and grass sparkle like diamonds. Nature is all around, as far as the eye can see. And it offers the perfect backdrop for playing, running, jumping and learning. Like the beach at the foot of the cliffs, unspoiled and only about half a mile away. But what if you are up for something else? If that is the case, a short car ride will take you to the towns of Wismar, Poel, Klütz or Boltenhagen, where you will discover a new world of fun, like the tigers in Dassow amusement park, the Wismar zoo or Questiner Wald game reserve . The wide array of possibilities makes it hard to choose what to do next: visit a stone-age village or the Gothic World Heritage Site in Stralsund and Wismar? Or perhaps the Museum of Technology? And what about riding, playing golf, fishing or paddling? Or would you rather take the children to the playground? Maybe on a boat trip? Or discover the surroundings from a carriage or a vintage car? What would you like to do first?

There are 100 beds in 2 main buildings and 36 additional beds in the 6 tree houses; rooms with two to eight beds, 1 dining room, 2 day rooms, 1 TV room, space for 80 to camp, two additional day rooms, one large dining room, a cosy fireplace lounge, TV room, a fruit garden, barbecue and bonfire area, a dormitory with terrace.
A playground, table tennis tables, ball games ground, volleyball field, basketball court, children's playground. Book loans, bicycle and sports equipment rental.

Loads of space!

Close to the beach, among hills, fields and meadows, that's where you'll find us. In a secluded place, surrounded by virtually no one, you'll be free to jump, run, dance and sing as loud as you want without worrying about the neighbours. And that's good, because we will definitely have lots of fun!
